I am pleased to announce that I will be attending the Showlight conference in Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic, as one of ROBE’s sponsored students. This will be an amazing networking opportunity, and I hope to get the chance to meet a lot of established industry professionals, as well as develop my knowledge on subjects that interest me.

I will be at the upcoming LDI conference in Las Vegas, as part of the ETC sponsorship program. I am really looking forward to meeting some new exciting people, and also looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am pleased to announce that I will be attending the Lighting Design International Conference in Las Vegas as a sponsored student with ETC. This will be an amazing opportunity to meet industry professionals and find out about how the industry works across the pond. I am very much looking forward to meeting my fellow sponsorship students and comparing notes about how we ended up working in this industry! I have also just recently finished working at PLASA with the moving light company, ROBE. This was a fantastic experience, for which I am really grateful to everyone at ROBE, especially Ian Brown, the sales director for ROBE UK, and Josef Valchar, the CEO of ROBE. I had a great time demonstrating some award winning and truly innovative products, and met some amazing people. After that weekend, I have a lot of emails to send!
After just over a month working for The Pleasance, I am taking a couple of well deserved days to recover. It’s been an amazing festival, and great experience to add to my portfolio, especially my newfound familiarity with ETC’s Eos family of desks. It’s been a pleasure to work with the whole production team, and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic companies, not to mention the people I was working with in my venue. I am pleased to announce two exciting upcoming events that I will be working at. First of all, I have been offered a position as a venue technician at Pleasance’s Beyond venue, where I will have the chance to work with ETC desks, which will be a new challenge for me! I have also been offered a position with ROBE UK as a salesperson on their stand at PLASA 2012. I am very much looking forward to both of these opportunities, they will hopefully be challenging and rewarding in equal measures.
This was the first time I had been to PLASA Focus. Having been to 2 previous PLASA shows in London, I had an idea of what to expect, and this show didn’t fail to impress. There was an excellent collection of seminars and professional development programs to attend, as well as the usual collection of exhibitors, showing off their newest and finest products to buyers.
